Fab News
This Week on Fab
Hello Fabbers!
I’m writing this from an unseasonably warm UK. The house is quiet. Mum and Dad are shopping at the supermarket, Helen has spotted something in a local shop she’d like to buy, and we’re meeting our eldest later this afternoon at the coastal town of West Bay where I may be forced to pop into the fishing tackle shop to ‘browse’ (cough) their wares!
Whenever we get away it gives us time to think, and we’ve been doing a lot of thinking this week about church and how we welcome others — especially those who are marginalised by society. Perhaps it is no coincidence that the Bible reading for this week’s Insight and Bible study are about that very thing.
In this week’s Insight, we discover how Jesus was rejected by a village of Samaritans, a people who were themselves rejected by the general Jewish population at the time because they were of ‘mixed blood’. Then, in this week’s Bible Study we hear about Jesus hanging out with tax-collectors who, because of their behaviour, were considered ‘scum’. Two different kinds of people, but Jesus treated them like he treated everyone — with love.

Mum and Dad have just returned with a car full of shopping so I’d better go and help!
Sending heaps of love and peace to you all in the name of Jesus!
