Fab News
This week on FAB
G’day Fabbers!
A warm welcome to those of you who have recently joined FAB as a guest! You are welcome to Like and Comment on our content and join in our Sunday gatherings (see below).
It has been a week of storms for many of us, particularly our Bermuda FAB community who endured not one hurricane but two! Perhaps there was a BOGOF (Buy-One-Get-One-Free) deal? Then, at the end of the week, our UK FAB community got the dregs of one of the storms, which for those in the north of the British Isles was pretty bad. A good friend of ours was driving home and ended up with a broken car windscreen. Thankfully, she is okay.
Talking of storms, it was a momentous week for the Anglican Church as Dame Sarah Mullally was appointed as the new Archbishop of Canterbury. This caused a major storm for the members of GAFCON (an ultra conservative Anglican group) and a mini storm for the Church of England Evangelical Council. Why? Because Sarah is pro LGBTQ+ and described the blessing of same sex couples as a ‘moment of hope’ for the Anglican Church. Many of us on FAB have Anglican roots and connections, and we pray for Sarah that she will be protected and blessed in her new role.
Right now, Helen and I are house-sitting two dogs in Bristol, UK as we help our youngest daughter with her house move. We do not know where we will go on Monday, so please pray for wisdom and guidance for us!
Tomorrow’s Sunday Gathering is on the theme ‘A Mustard Seed Faith’ and you can find the details here: https://fab.church/gathering/mustard-seed-faith/
We’re meeting in cyberspace at 5pm UTC. Here’s the direct ZOOM link: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/85283563851
The reason our FAB gatherings are not public, and we have this Guest and Member system is not to be elitist but to protect those in our care. FAB is made up of people, some of whom are from marginalised backgrounds, and some of us have been hurt by pastors and churches. We ensure our online spaces are safe for all.
Whatever you are doing today, and wherever you are, be fabulous.
Heaps of love and peace in Jesus
