This week on Fab!
Greetings Fabbers!
Right now, Helen and I are in the UK visiting family, and today (Sunday) we’re cooking Christmas lunch for everyone. It’s so difficult living away from our girls and parents, and seeing them actually seems to make it more difficult, not less, as it reminds us just how much we love them and miss them.
This week’s Insight and podcast was inspired by a question asked by my daughter, which was how I still had a faith after going through trauma? This coincided with my reading of a book called ‘My Bright Abyss’ by Christian Wiman, which is a very raw and honest reflection on the topic of faith. Together, it inspired me to pen a reflection on my own experience of faith in the midst of trauma — especially when God feels silent or absent. You can read or listen to it here:

This week was also a week when I felt frustrated with the Anglican Church, particularly its practices and stances on certain issues close to my heart, and I think god has a sense of humour when I read this week’s Devotion based on Luke 4:14-16. If we want to influence a system or way of thinking then we, like Jesus, have to be ‘in it to win it’. Hmmm, perhaps God is telling me something? You can engage with the Devotion called ‘Influence’ here:

I hope and pray that you have a good week, and that you know God’s presence and love.
