One of the most powerful things that helped my parents when my brother was still “feeding the pigs” and the public shaming of him and them was keen was an older couple who came, said @We have heard of the troubles our dear J whom we love is having” – in essence they offered to stand by the parents in loving this lost son. Then they said “if you want to talk, we are here to listen, but if that feels like too much, we will just sit and cry with you a while”

Oh, how I longed for such a wise companion in our dark years. Still-God carried us through until the light finally dawned
