What is faith without action?

This is a nice introduction to the book of James!
For me, I like to think of James in concert with Paul. Many people put them as opposing views but I do not think that this is so. Paul was arguing against people who were still trying to hold onto the Law as a means of salvation, that was why he put the emphasis on faith. James was addressing day to day living and what being a Jesus follower meant through that lens so his emphasis was on action, or “works”.
